Our poor Tahoe blew its engine, having 176,000 miles on the odometer. This happened just as we crossed back over the US Border. We luckily made it safely to a dealership in Bellingham, WA, 20 miles from customs.
We received the bad news that a new engine was needed and it would take a few weeks to find a new or used replacement … at a substantial cost.
So the decision was made to purchase a new pre-owned vehicle allowing us to continue our travels.
Thank you 2013 Chevy Tahoe for your wonderful years of service and great memories. Corky is really going to miss you!
Meet the new workhorse, our 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Country Truck. It has a 5.3l engine and some cool features, like an actual back-up camera rather than a “spouse point and yell” commands to line-up the hitch.
While this wasn’t planned, we did anticipate needing a new tow vehicle.
