Lake Spokane (River), WA

Upon returning from Colorado, we gathered our camper SHA at the Spokane airport (GEG) and headed north. Our objective the Spokane river for kayaking.

We stopped for a late lunch at 291 brewery and eatery. Surprised at the quality of food from a small prep area. The Bavarian pretzel was authentically soft and fresh. The beef brisket tasty. We will be back!

(Yes, Cia did cut her hair making it easier for our travels)

Our home for the next few days, Willow Bay RV and marina. We selected our site location next to the water, terrific view and access to lake Spokane. The 28 mile long lake was created with 2 dams, Nine Mile and Long Lake Dam. (The RV site was wonderful, the facilities need better care.)

We spent a peaceful Friday enjoying the water and beautiful temperature. A quiet day …until the weekenders arrived. This RV spot attracts seasonal space rentals, so many landed as the work week ended. Things were louder, but entertaining. We got up early on Saturday for another long paddle on smooth water. We spotted the heron sitting in the lilly pads and had to say hello.
