What a great experience! We flew from Key West to Dry Tortugas NP via seaplane. The pilot flew very low so we could see shipwrecks, sea turtles, sharks and multiple keys along the way.
Fort Jefferson, the primary purpose for Dry Tortugas, is a huge brick structure on a very small key built in the mid 1800’s. The Fort never actually opened except to house a few prisoners.
