This crazy hike boasts the gnarliest tree in Canada. It is currently closed to the public but we couldn’t resist going into this amazing grove of rooted trails, broken stairs and gnarly trees outside of Port Renfrew BC on Vancouver…
Thankfully there were very few waves to surf …
Currently we are traveling via ferry to Victoria, BC for a week and then back to the US to visit North Cascades and Mount Rainer.
We stayed in Sol Duc Hot Springs Campground in the northwestern part of the park. There are so many magical hikes to experience. The rainforest ferns are taller than Corky, the ancient groves mystical, the numerous waterfalls, rivers and lakes…
Nice campground, with relaxing hot springs and even room to play bags, which we both need some serious practice to hit these mini corn hole boards. (More info coming ..)
Top notch Harvest Host with upward of 50 free sites! General store allowed us to fill our refrigerator and bellies with Charcuterie. Barn yard was enjoyable to view the goats, chickens, alpaca, cows, lama, geese and a really loud bird…
Our pictures are never enhanced, so what you see is reality. This park was very crowded and there really isn’t much more to do than view the amazing crater and lake. It’s worth a stop but one day is plenty…
