We spent a couple of lovely weeks dog sitting in Carmel, CA and it was a nice little break from the camper life.
We were able to take many walks along the beach and through the magical town of Carmel-by-the-Sea. There is our favorite bakery we had to visit a couple of times (Carmel Bakery), visited the weekly farmers market and completed a famous Liberty wooden puzzle of Carmel. We got in a couple of affordable rounds of golf, which is always wonderful. One course is along the Monterey Airport runways, and the landing lights are actually on the course, Monterey Pines Golf Course, a nice course. We also played Laguna Seca Golf Ranch which is a beautiful course with lots of elevation change and dog legs to challenge our golf skills.
